Dah-Miin Yau
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend

Obituary

Mrs. Dah-Miin Yau, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, and a long time resident of Danbury Connecticut since 1986, died Thursday November 18, 2021 at Danbury Hospital after a sudden heart attack two days prior.  She was the wife of Chaur-Jian Hsu.

Mrs. Yau was born in Taiwan 69 years ago as the only daughter among five children of the late Yuh-Lin Yau and Shu-Pi Yau-Chan. She retired after working for many years as the IT Administrator for the Towns of Ridgefield and Brookfield, also as an instructor for the Kumon after school teaching program.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Yau is survived by her daughter Sharon Hsu and her husband Richard Chung of Irvine California; her son Byron Hsu and his wife Jane Jeong of New York City; her mother Shu-Pi Yau-Chan, her brothers Takuang Yau, Tawai Yau and Tapeng Yau, all of Taiwan; her grandchildren Alexander Chung, Audrey Chung and Austin Chung; and many nieces and nephews.

Dah-Miin’s life had been a devotion to family, friends, work, and fun activities.  She loved to travel, sing karaoke, play mahjong, and spend time with her grandchildren.  She lived a life full of love and laughter, and will be dearly missed by many.
